Hi all,
I've built two NB sabers now and both seem to have the same problem - the swing sounds are really hard to activate. The hilt has to be really tossed around or rapidly swung to get much and...
I tried my hand at calculating resistances for the first time for the royal blue and red using a 3.7V 18650 battery. I'm glad of pulling this myself, as silly as it sounds.
Final results are a .5...
Awesomesauce, many thanks. :)
Ahh, yeah, that makes sense. I assume you'd need to do each LED with a separate resistor and then rejoin the wires afterwards?
I'm wiring up a NB 2.0 and a tri-rebel (Rblue/green/red) with the goal of getting a purple blade. Is it as simple as just soldering the wires to the red and blue pads like I would with a single LED?...
Whoops! Thanks for catching that - I guess I swapped the numbers around somewhere in my head.
I'm making a dark side-ish saber for a friend and could use a double-check on the electronics list (switch, resistance, etc.). Thanks!

Update: IT WORKS!
I think the board solder was the key bit. Thank you guys so much for your help. Seriously.
Now that it's done, though, I am already wanting to make another...
The speaker - and LED, for that matter - both pretty sloppy. I did them with my old soldering gun and it was refusing to heat up..hahah. The green extra green wire was the FOC wire, I cut it early...
That's correct, I have a v2 pad and got the v1 harness - it was the only one available. I ended up taking the system apart last night for the purposes of troubleshooting and it all got a little...
Here are my photos, both before (when I tried it earlier) and after when I touched up some solder on the middle few connections. I didn't solder the top of the board at all, due to the wiring...
Great idea. Thanks so much for the help, by the way. I'll report back when I know more.
Thanks, I'll try to get some in later.
I just thought of something else...there is a wire coming from the wiring harness that plugs into the empty slot on the NB board (the FoC spot), but that isn't connected to anything or grounded. I...
Good point...
I'm at work, can get more pics when I'm back at home after. I used the NB with the wiring harness - I wonder if I didn't solder the connections from the harness well enough; I went...
Absolutely nothing...no sound, no light other than the switch. I wondered for a bit if the switch itself might be broken, like stuck closed.
Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 2600mAh PCB, and I charged it about a week ago (and made sure to keep the cap in).
I just wired up my first saber and it didn't work quite right. That is, almost not at all. The LED switch turned on and stayed on as soon as I removed the plug from the recharge port...nothing else...
Awesomesauce, many thanks. :)
This is the diagram I'm working off of:

Here is the harness - you can see in the pics how the red wires are vertically stacked. I think...
I encountered a new question - I bought the NB Header & wiring harness and noticed that there are 2 red wires - one for LED and one for battery. Is it ok that these are separate, rather than wired...
But definitely worth every dime in awesomeness. :)
Thank you, sir! You're my hero for the week, plus you've helped me out before, too. :D Building these up is way too much fun, I feel like a lot of money is going to be sunk here in the next year...
I'm putting together my first lightsaber and found someone who has the exact same build design as I do and I wanted to double check a couple things on the writing. This person deserves all of the...
Thanks, I'm glad I'm not going crazy here. :) Would another switch option (the one below specifically) be able to be put in without drilling it out? My shop's closed down for about 3 weeks here...
