Doesnt the amount of layers it can hold, depend more on the individual properties of the layer's themselves?

One thing you could try to prevent the cold fluorescent tube effect, is to go for a warmer white.
Perhaps a thin orange filter or something of the sort.
Or any colour, for that matter...

I have seen those mentioned over at Padawan's Guide,
but i also heard that you have to pay for them,
or had to pay for them, since they are discontinued or something...

For the picture, id either go to
a room where there's no direct light shining on it,
or take a picture with a light behind it.
