  1. Brightness difference 1 die(single), 2 dice(dual), 3 dice (tri) on a tri cree

Can anyone estimate the brightness difference between using a single, dual, and tri cree full powah setup? Lets say they are all BBB.
I noticed you can really tell a difference between 1 die and 2...

I see. Thanks for the info FenixFire.
Any chance you would be able to answer what the current would be if we used no resistor from the 3.7V source to the blue cree xp-e2?

So if I use a 1 ohm resistor in this case the current would be
    .3/1 = .3A or 300 milliamps? That doesn't seem right..

I was under the impression we can use a 1 ohm resistor for any of the cree...

If that were the case wouldn't .638A be way too little current to power the LED?
The LED wants to run at 1A so .638A seems pretty underpowered yet I hear that this setup works just fine... (Blue...
  5. Calculating current(I) possible given power source voltage and the resistor?

Lets say we have a 3.7V power source(Vs) and a blue XP-E2 cree LED with a Foward Voltage(Vf) of 3.4 and current of 1Amp.

    Using Ohm's law[R=(Vs-Vf)/I] we have

    .3 = (3.7-3.4)/1

    So the best...

I believe that is the lock up sensor. You can actually disconnect it and the saber would still light up/have swing sounds. So i think conversion is still a possibility.

One more follow up question. Would powering the 2 dice in series with the buckpuck drain the battery faster than just one die and the buckpuck? The current flow would be the same in either case...

Lets say we wire the 7.4 pack with buckpuck to the tri cree all blue in series. I understand that this setup would only really power 2 dice fully. but if we did add the third die in series as well,...

Thanks for the info Silver Serpent! Just a Follow up for number 4.

When I said direct drive, I meant no resistor or buckpuck at all(I apologize if I am misusing the term direct drive). I...
  11. Wiring 1 die or 2 dice (cree XP E2) with a buck puck and a 7.4 volt battery

I am planning on getting a tri Cree BBW or a single Blue Cree XP E2 LED. I will also be getting a 1000ma buckpuck and have a 7.4 Volt battery pack (2 14500 li ion batteries). A Few questions:

When you remove the electronics from the hilt, will it come out from the emitter end or the pommel end?
