Hopefully, your payday is tomorrow. :)
I just did this with my son's initiate v3 hilt. Easy enough. You can indeed use the same resistor, as the manual states. You can also use a 12mm AV momentary switch; but since US press-fits their...
I was lazy - I assumed just the two non-white dice. I'm sorry.
Oops, I forgot to answer your question: Yes.
You don't *have* to run it at 1000ma; you can technically run it at 700ma, or even 2000ma with adequate cooling. The buck will adjust the voltage, as long as the power source has enough to drive it....
Two points I'd like to make.
1. If you're using a buckpuck, you'll want a 7.4v battery, or a 4xAA battery holder.

I opted for the second option. I'm very happy to report a successful modification. Thanks again for your help.
Thank you, TrypWyr!

And here it is!
This is a pic of the hilt:

Hello everyone!
This is my first post, and I thought I'd share this with you. I was looking for wiring diagrams, tutorials, anything to get a nice, bright purple saber. The tri-cree seemed optimal...
