Haha! The funny thing is I bought those like a couple days before you posted that thread with the crystal chamber. I guess great minds think alike. ;-)
Oh I was thinking small diameter tubing. But they DO have brass sinktube, at least at the one near my house. But they only carry them in 8" pieces.
Well this one isn't quite done yet, but with everyone talking crystal chassis', I figured I would go ahead and show whats done so far.
Some may remember this saber, the Viridian Virtue:...
Don't know where you live, but if you have an ace hardware locally they should have it in various sizes. That's where I always get mine from.
I would use this buckpuck.

You will get much better run times than you would with a resistor set up.
How sad. Only my second order for the year. And it's only another rhyen..
Revisiting an old saber and adding a full chassis and crystal chamber. But hopefully I will get a manly in soon!
Hi LordValk and welcome to the forum! Nice first saber, now how about a little detail? We all love to hear what is hiding inside of the hilts! Type of led, sound yes/no..
Wow Jay-gon! That is one awesome looking saber! I think it's my favorite build of yours so far.
Lol. Yes I sure do. My most recent project was even more of a pain than the christmas one I did. But at least I didn't have to trash any crappy soundboards like the last time.
You can find that...
Looks good Shad! Glad to see you got it all finished.
You're welcome and good luck! Im anxious to see how it turns out. We don't really see steel hilts too often.
Well the economy boards put out roughly 350ma at 6volts, and I and others here have made pvc sabers with no heatsink whatsoever using Lux Is and Crees at 350ma micro pucks with no problems. I have...
Pretty good.. 4 months and 6 sabers ago. Lol. Now they mostly just sit on their stands collecting dust. I was bored the other day waiting on parts that I needed for another saber, so I decided to...
Little update. Check the first post!
Sweet first saber! I'm loving the gear with that blade holder.
Nice first hilt. Although that switch looks a little on the big side. What led are you using? LUX, P4, Cree?
I do the same, except I solder the accent negatives directly to the board, so no splicing wires.
And can you guess who I learned that from? ;)
When I wire accents off fx boards, I usually splice them off of the positive led output and one of the negative outputs with a 150ohm 1/4watt resistor.
This looks like it should work too though.
Nice first saber! The dull media blasted sections look great mixed with the shiny choke and AV switch.
Looks good JK. I really like hilt #4. And bin 6 Ambers. ;)
1 manly and 1 Ryhen for now.
Should have more Rhyens or maybe an Arkai in the next week or two. Hey I can't help it that I have a bunch of empty hilts that need electronics!
Nice one Caine! I'm sure she will love it. How does that choke feel? It looks like it would be a bit uncomfortable to grip, since it has such an abrubt angle.
Check out this thread. It covers pretty much everything you need.
