Awesome crystal chamber!
I'm a surgeon (not a watchmaker, though)... ...I'm always amazed, that I can cut into aluminum with a Dremel - and it doesn't bleed!
This is awesome! It looks like it comes right out of a prop box of the original trilogy. Great combination of scratch build and MHS!
And it doesn't even need a power switch... ...cause it says:...
Did it get lost on the way? Or was it stolen?
Thank you! :)
@Ris Liam Actually it's blue and purple. At first I had it switched to red with the Pitch Black font most of the time. But now I think a cold colour looks better with the shiny...
Great job! Especially the etching is outstanding!
Great job! It's beautiful and sleek - and so compact. The install took some serious Cram Fu, I'm sure... I totally dig the flattened shroud parts.
Thanks again! But don't just hint on it - here's the link... ;) http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?20595-Merciless-A-clawed-Sith-saber&highlight=Merciless
Thank you! :)
It's as Silver Serpent said - those are steel pull springs, aged by dipping them into acid. The ones used for the crystal chamber have an outer diameter of 3mm and an ID of 2mm. The...
Well - you can't... :p
In the picture above you can see the solder on the pads of the NB where the wires are soldered to from the other side. But since it sits edge to edge with the shroud you just...
I managed to get one more than a year ago. But they've been frequently out of stock then, too.
Well, Greenie, I really love your builds - especially the cores - so I would definitely not mind to see some similarities to Sator in one of your sabers. Feel free to 'steal' whatever you want... ;)
Thanks again for all your nice comments! I really appreciate it! :)
Beautiful, elegant and clean - well done! An elegant weapon for a more civilized Sith... :p
As a German I especially dig the color scheme with black, red and gold... ;)
Wow! Thank you all so much for your praise! My day didn't start too well, but now I'm feeling better...
@Ridire Fíréan To inspire someone (or having ideas copied by someone else) is the...
I used mostly cutting wheels (fibre enhanced), those cylindrical sandpaper attachments (not sure, how they're called), polishing wheels and Wolfram carbide bits. Those cut like hell, into aluminum at...
Thanx for your comments! :)
I just used a drill press, a Dremel, an angle grinder and several hand tools. If anyone's interested- this is a link to a more detailed thread on the Fx-Sabers forum...
Hi! :)
This is Sator (that's Latin an means 'father' or 'progenitor'), my first saber. I already posted a gallery thread over at the Fx-Sabers forum, so if you saw it there - sorry, nothing new to...
Here's my version of a kill switch/main power switch (as opposed to a kill key ;)) for my actual project Sator. When you unscrew the pommel the switch block will slide of the switch itself and you...
Greetings from a fellow German in Berlin to my beloved Bavaria!
If you had several different resistor values and a bread board at hand, the best thing would be to experiment a little, until you...
Looks great! Your style is similar to the one Harp uses for his awesome CCs. I think your crystals are polished natural quartz crystals - those should light up beautifully.
How did you fix the...
Thought so... ;)
My first finished saber was for my son. Now I'm about to finish mine - which I started first, but last Christmas came so suddenly and unexpectedly (as usual :D), that I had to set...
Congratulations on your first! :)
Another example of 'parenting at its best'! :D
The etching turned out great.
So I guess, the next one is Daddy's own and will have sound? ;)
Elegant and sleek design... ...looks like it belongs to a noble.
I like the fact, that you used a crystal, that you harvested yourself. Along with building the saber, that makes you a true Jedi! :D...
Thank you all for the nice feedback! I didn't expect that this quick shot saber would get that much attention... :D
Hi everyone!
Actually I didn't want to post pictures of this saber, because it's of a very simple design and build. It was a Christmas present for my eight years old son last year and I only had...
