Hey guys
I've been reading about 3-die LEDs and flash on clash and this question came to mind: most of the FoC effects in the movies are white (thus making white the "canon flash color") - so...
Thanks. I asked that because I was confused about the "no current regulator" in the NBv4 description.
So I'd have 2x thw luminous power. I hadn't thought about that.
Btw, are buckpucks necessary in the NB setup? Or just resistors?
Greetings, guys
I plan to build a lightsaber in the near future and so I've beem looking up all datasheets, manuals, etc, even electronics lessons online (I'm rather new to the lightsaber hobby)....
Thanks guys!
I just need to know if my wiring's all right (I'm not quite sure about the PLI wiring, specifically). Is it OK?
Thanks.
Is the PLI wiring correct, then?
And why must a kill plug be used?
Yes. I plan on using a potentiometer and a multimeter for that.
Is the PLI wired correctly?
OK, this is the final thing. Is there anything wrong?
And what of the kill plug? I know I gotta use one, but what is it for?
Thanks, guys.
OK, here's the deal (the attached image).
I just don't know if the wiring for the PLI is right, and which resistor should I use on the PLI (I have a 7.4 V pack, but the closest...
So this one's more like it.
@Cannibal869: Will I need a kill key if I don't use a PLI?
(I don't know what's a kill key used for, apologies)
@FenderBender: how should the recharge port be wired? I followed these schematics:...
I'm posting this here to check for errors.
If anybody sees any mistake in the parts I'm using, their position or how they're wired, please notify me.
And just out of curiosity: where would a...
I have wired as many as nine simple Lux III sabers, but none with buckpucks or Li-Ion packs or recharge sockets or the like. They were as simple as "4 AAA 6V pack + resistor + switch + LED + heatsink...
Are there any alternatives to the huge heatshrink used around the batteries? I don't know where I can find heatshrink this huge.
and...I'm supposed to solder the battery pack leads to the power...
Thanks for the enlightening tutorials, Allaerra.
Does the recharge port remain exposed (fit in a hole in the hilt) or stay stored inside the hilt? (I'd need to pull it out to recharge the...
I wish I knew how to install recharge ports (a tamiya connector is used to recharge the batteries, right?).
Actually, yes. If I saw any pictures of how it's done I might try doing it, though....
Why not a 5W resistor?
And...how do you recharge the pack you described?
Worst case scenario, I'm going to wire the batteries with jumpers and keep the wires in place with insulating tape....
No prob, chill out, dude. :] (actually, the 'chill' part goes for everyone)
Bingo, 'cause I want to apply the "colour shade tech" to sabers of other colours, e.g. orange, yellow, pink, pale...
Wow, that spawned a lot of disagreement. o_o
Let me just ask a final question, then: If I wire the red and blue dice in parallel, each with a 1000 mA puck (and the red one with a 3.3 ohm resistor...
I can't imagine someone heat-shrinking batteries :S how do you do it?
That's what the guys in FX Sabers told me to do.
So it's safe to go only with the 1000 mA pucks and no driver?
And...
Hey fellas, it's me again.
As you may know already, I have this purple saber project. But since I don't know much electronics (you surely know that by reading my posts), I tried to learn the stuff...
I didn't know that.
It's me again. I know you must be tired of my questions regarding RGBA LEDs, but this is the last one...I think. And it's kind of lame, actually.
I plan on building a saber with a LedEngin RGBA...
hey guys, how's it going?
I have another couple questions regarding RGB LEDs.
1. Does any TCSS lens holder fit an RGB LED? If not, how is the collimator (lens) set in place?
2. What is the...
Nice belt, dude!
