Lord, yes! If one were to judge by the forums, paintball (an avid interest of mine) seems to be a collection of uneducated CHUDs that become abusive at any differing opinions or questions that are...
It looks like you're using momentary switches. Is that deliberate? Do you know the difference? Regardless, the lighting switch is going to require some additional machining to make it fit in your...
Is there any conceivable way for you to mount some sort or button latch to that? The same kind that one might use on an easy-to-assemble camping canopy?
Neat!
I'll (shamefully) admit to searching other sites for one when Tim was out (although I ended up buying them from him), and I noticed a variety of different sizes.
Just spread to this one! :-)
Simple. Clean. Nicely done.
It looks to be a fairly simple design, so it should be pretty easy to do, provided you have the right tools for it. Some of the tutorials on the forum provide some great information on what is...
Welcome back to the light, although I'm told the other side has cookies. I'll be investigating this claim later and reporting back.
Interesting thought. I'll try it.
Nah. I leave that to metaphysicists. Science is based on observable fact, and I can't observe past lives one way or the other. What I can observe, however, is that my batteries are jostling a little...
Ha ha ha! I don't. They do. I haven't practiced any martial arts in years. :-)
I'm pretty rough on mine, as I'm sparring with guys that practice kendo. Velcro just ain't gonna cut it for these purposes.
Seriously? I spent a whole 60-seconds to come up with a masterpiece of lyricism to rival those of Paul Simon, John Lennon, and Tom Waits, and you all want more?! I can't work under these conditions! ...
This is a catchy song you are all singing. Let me see if I've got the lyrics down yet.
Battery packs may be nice
For testing, demonstrations, and stuff
When it comes to dueling,
They're really...
Sigh... For about the millionth time in process of building my first saber, I'm going to mentally file that under "Things I Wish I Knew a Month Ago." :-)
Yeah. I think part of the problem is that I used a Pololu board to make up for the fact that I accidentally used a momentary switch. The Pololu board seems really sensitive to power interruptions.
I'm relatively new, too. I know the forums are overwhelming. The first few times I tried searching for something, I got discouraged because it seemed like 50% of the answers were, "Do more searching...
It's not that they are popping out. Because of the springs in the pack, they have some parallel give. They're not popping out, laterally. I'll try engulfing them in electrical tape, and then I'll...
I'm going to make a prediction that this person will be too embarrassed to come back for a while, given the response this thread has received.
Thanks, all. I guess this will just accelerate my plans to completely rewire the interior with a driver board and rechargeable batteries. I just wonder, though, all the people I know that use sabers...
So I've been looking around the forum, and I have yet to run into this conundrum; when my saber gets hit or moves forcibly, the batteries get a sudden jolt and the whole saber turns off. I've tried...
I use a recessed set screw to keep the lines on my saber clean. The only down side is that I need to carry an allen wrench with me, if I want to switch the blade out.
I used an 8" extension on mine. For me, at least, it's like you say; not too long as to be ridiculous. Also, for those of us that are not yet the most practiced at making all the electronics fit into...
Well, I am a bit of an attention whore. ;-)
I was wondering about wrapping it in some plastic, but I didn't know if the board heated up at all. Now that I know it doesn't, that helps a lot. ESD...
