I've found great speakers for use with the soundboard. Got em at Radioshack, about 3 bucks a piece, 8-Ohm, and slightly more than an inch in diameter (1 1/8)! Part number is 273-092.

Simply way would be to look at the specs for the wire you're using, looking at its electrical chars (conductance, capacitance, impedance) and doing the integration to find max length to hit 4Hz.

without, meaning that's what's getting fed INTO the EL wire, which is what people normally give when they talk about specs. Loading shouldn't affect the frequency going into the EL wire.

I was running it off a bench at roughly 12V, but no more than 12.5V.

In actuality, the Inverter sold by Strydur doesn't run at 4kHz. I ran it on an oscope and it actually runs at closer to 10kHz.

Don't know if it's too late, but one suggestion I would give is to get something with (I'm not too sure about this) Speed Step technology? Basically it makes it so your computer doesn't run at the...

The 555 timer draws around 15 ma in standby mode over a few day this is enough to drain the typical battery. Keep in mind we use AAA or AAA batteriers in our sabers which have an ok...

I went through this idea a while back but the problem was how to overcome having a second switch for main power for the 555 circuit? If the circuit remains powered up all the time then...

So I've been working on this single switch problem and I think I came up with something in THEORY. Theoretically, you could use a SPDT switch, one of the positive leads powering up the Inverter...
