The diagram looks good, though you will have to cut through a trade on the Neopixel PCB as I recall. Check the manual for location and details.

What kind of battery are you using?

Tims done tons of custom work for me throughout the years. That’s one of the several reasons why I use MHS as a base for all of my designs.

I recommend you put at least a minimal resistor on any LED you install.
