Hasid- I read throught that whole thread the other day and even watched the video and somehow managed to miss the pic of the saber sitting in pieces! Much thanks for posting it again, that's just...
I did a search and couldn't find anything on here about it. It's a master replicas elite edition. There's a great thread about turning one into an LED saber, but nothing about dismantling it.
I recently got a MR EE Obi TPM saber, and was hoping to put electronics in it eventually. I got it very cheap because it has a lot of rust all over but is in relatively good shape otherwise. But...
The cheapest I've ever found an alluminum covertec with the dished back elsewhere is $6.50. I'll take Tim's any day.
It would work as a 2 dimensional picture on photoshop because you're looking at only one 'side' of the blade. In a 3 dimensional world however, the light covers everything.
I'd have the all the star wars people, like jedi and stormtroopers and all of them live in our galaxy under the federation from star trek so they could have transporters and replicators. And instead...
Make sure when you go smaller, that the switch can take it. I had a really small switch that I hooked up to an el saber a while back and it just couldn't take the power. It kept going on and off at...
If you're undecided about who to go with, go with the css. The quality of his parts are really unmatched by other sites, and the shipping time is next to nothing.
Do you guys know if the R2 head spins around? If not, that has got to be his next project, it would be so cool!
If Qui-Gon could have been Anakin's apprentice for even a few years before dying, coupled with his mother's death, it would have made his anger and fear of losing loved ones even stronger.
I was talking to my brother about this just last night! If Qui-Gon would have lived, there could have been some great conversations between him and Dooku, about the corruption of the senate, and how...
As far as size, I think it's the best fx to date compared to the actual saber. The great thing about maul's saber is there are no thin parts. It's pretty much a long tube with stuff added on to it....
What this guy is doing makes no sense. He has 40 repeat customers and only 5 negatives out of almost 400 in his feedback. He seemed to have a good thing going and then threw it all away by messing...
You could probably try to make one out of PVC like the old EL tutorial. The only problem is that there would be less then an eighth of an inch of material around the blade.
Whatever you pay for a lathe, expect to pay at least that much again for tools.
That's because he said nothing specific. The program won't have stuff like that. Try just metal, but I bet that would be a hard one, too.
My first saber was an EL, and it's great. But I just got my first LED from Tim yesterday, and I don't think I can go back to EL.
Check the links from the home page of the css, and go to replica graflex under 'hilt designs'. That guy has a template for the curve and the emitter clamp 'ears'.
I agree, nice work. It's always cool to have talented people share some methods with us.
I kind of thought I would have to get a new switch, but I figured it was worth checking if I could use what i already have. Thanks guys.
I have an el holder for my graflex (I got it a while back, unfortunately before Tim had his) and have a problem with the switch. There's a groove in the back so I can put my switch where the red...
Don't forget the battery holder either. Gotta have power [:)]
That sounds cool, make sure you get plenty of pics!
