I think you only need it if you want to take advantage of the color switching ability of the NBv4 and an RGB LED setup. If you're just doing a one-color blade you don't need to worry about using a...
Both. Pretty sure you can place the resistors on either the positive or the negative.
Hate to resurrect this thread, but this seemed like the most appropriate one to comment on. Has anyone tried this product?

Seems like it might be a good...
Back in my Warhammer 40k days, I used to use guitar strings to achieve a similar effect.

First Question:
Yeah, sounds like you've pretty much got it.
Second Question:
You must manually make changes in the config and override.txt files. The NBv4 is not compatible with RICE. Other...
Never had any problem etching sleeve material using the salt-water etching technique. Can I ask what your set-up was like when you tried that?
Yeah, even my app is telling me that the Red should have a 1.1o 2w resistor on it (calculated 1.11 o, 1.1w), so the 1.2o 3w should work. The 1o 2w resistor that's currently on there is probably...
TBH I just use an app on my phone that does the calculation for me, and then recommends a resistor to use.
Here's the diagram I used when wiring up my NB v3. Slightly different, of course, since it was a RGB, but you get the idea.

Disregard. It was because I didn't format the card before adding the font. Formatting first solved all problems!
I just installed my first font into bank 4. Seems to be working perfectly, except that the Saber plays a loud beep sound before it plays the boot sound. Doesn't do this for any other font, and other...
The 3.7v 18650 battery will work perfectly with the Nano Biscotte. Just read the manual thorougly before you start work and note the voltages the board outputs.
Yeah, the 18650 battery will provide enough power, but you will need to put resistors on your LEDs.
Holy crap, that was done with a dremel? Would love to hear more about how you did that and the dremel attachments you used.
That shroudwork is awesome. I'm guessing it wasn't done by hand with a dremel?
Thanks for the compliments! The paint is just some black spraypaint I got from Home Depot that I baked on and then weathered down a bit with some sandpaper.
Here's my second saber, which I'm thinking of calling "Morning Star". This one will be my personal saber.
Specs:
PRIZM v4
Tri-Cree R,G,rB
29mm premium speaker
18650 2600mah battery

Thanks for all the kind comments! I love that you mentioned the organic look of it, jbkuma. I was definitely aiming for that with the shape of the sleeve and the style of the etching.
Finally finished my first saber. This one I did for my wife. It's called "Sanguine Sun" and features some saltwater etching on the sleeve with part of a verse from Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem "The...
Great looking saber! Continually impressed with the work of people on this site.
Mine is so crammed full and ugly I'm embarrased. I don't even want to post photos.
Once again, a beautiful saber! I'm jealous of your padawan.
Love this saber! Beautiful work!
Man, that is a classy lookin' saber! Very nice!
