Oh cool, thanks for the info. Do you have a link to the original instructable you were using? I'd like to compare it to my one.

Sounds awesome. On second glance, I realised the instructables link is broken and might not be the one I'm using. This is the one I'm following.
What did your ELE friend say about the circuit you...
Hi, just wanted to say this is really encouraging. I've been tinkering around with building my own board for just over a year now and (amusingly enough) after a whole bunch of dead ends I find myself...
Thanks.
Well the first thing I'm building is the LED string, so I'll see how it goes. If it turns out to be less LEDs I certainly won't complain.
Back on topic, is canabalising the innards of one of those...
Hi Daisan,
I had as it happens, I've been lurking around for a while. Hadn't noticed the number of LEDs he used though, if it turns out to be less than I thought then that would definitely make...
Thanks :)
Ah right. I've never spoken to him personally, just seen a few of the threads he wrote.
I'll see what I can do with these batteries. I ordered a 4A buck to go with them, would it still work if I...
Hmmmm?
Well sure, if it's a 1m blade, with two leds for every centimeter, then that works out as 200. That hampton guy packed them even closer by grinding off parts of the enclosure.
I think I have a...
I'm trying to make a LED ladder blade like makoto's ones. I figure it'll work out at ~200 leds drawing 20mA each, so the blade will run at 4A total. Hence the hefty battery.
Oh wow, that's definitely way too big, 5.1cm diameter, thanks for the heads up.
If it's just 8 cells and a pcb soldered together in series then wrapped in plastic, do you think I could cut it open...
It's pretty small, 18mm x 65mm. I haven't ordered any of the hilt parts yet, just put in a tentative enquiry about some 35mm brass pipe. Is there something wrong with that pack?
I've ordered a bunch of saber parts for a LED strip blade (should be arriving in a couple of weeks) and I'm looking for a charger for my battery. I was just wondering, would it be possible to buy...
Thanks for the welcome :) I look forward to seeing my work too.
I've decided to remove this for the moment as I'm pretty sure I'll be building a different type of blade any I don't want to waste people's time with questions I don't necessarily need.
Assuming you haven't ordered already, I think the luxeon star site allows you to order star PCBs with custom LED colours soldered on. Much more expensive than here of course, but it might be what...
Thanks for the welcome :)
Actually I'm planning on making my own hilt, if nothing else shipping from the US for heavy items like metal tubes is prohibitively expensive, but even so you're right,...
That's what I was wondering: Would they actually fit. If not then there's not much point.
Thanks for the welcome :)
I had a hunt around, but I couldn't find any results, has anyone tried one of these: http://www.luxeonstar.com/cool-white-5650K-sinkpad-ii-40mm-7-led-round-led-235lm ?
