Your 'Scrap' saber looks better than many of my 'non-scrap' saber designs.
I really do think you have a unique talent for this kind of work. :D
This saber is up to your usual (high) standards! I am jealous!
Kudos on ingenious reuse of parts. Both luggage and printer parts, no less. Mounting the core to the pommel makes the connections in the pommel easy-peasy. It is a great idea!
That is a very clean install. Looks really professional (and the velcro seems like it should do the job).
I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your final saber.
I have not done any leather work myself, but I have a nice book on it I bought and never read. :D

From regarding about the switch, the two sets of ratings are:
The switch can turn on/off 12v @ 20 amps.
The built in led Can be illuminated with a voltage as low as 3.3 volts. That low voltage...

Can you post a photo of the switch? Or better yet post a link to it so we can see the data sheet on it?
Reckos does not look like an MHS based saber UNTIL you explain the machining you did. Now I see it. But it looks so custom!
I also love the chassis implementation. It is not often a...
Well, if it is worth doing, it is worth over doing. Actually, My goal is to make etching a quick process so I can use it often. I have to think on the Frankenetch name. I was going with the...

Getting the light in the switch to go on and off with the kill plug is very doable.
The only issue I see that that you have a latching AV switch. The NB requires a momentary switch. We use...
Can you give us a photo or two of your wiring? Perhaps then we can see what is up.
I completely agree - this is well thought out and executed with that 'real work-a-day' light saber look. No Jedi would be unhappy to wear it!
Mike,
Actually, I think you are right. You will not need a pull-up resistor - so a straight connection should work fine.
Forge ahead!
Marc..
Could you post an updated link to the picture of this saber? The current link is broken...
Mike:
Are you still planning to use the NB for this saber? Or will running it silent but with 'blade pulse' be enough for your purposes?
I ask because the BuckPuck dimming and the BuckBlock...
I have to say that I like that saber even though it is longer than I typically prefer. It has a presence and elegance that complements its size.
Well done.
Oh yeah - that wallet warning ain't...
I am looking forward to seeing it. I am glad that someone is getting their sabers finished! Work really imposes itself on my personal life, yah know? :D
Hey Mike:
If you are working at higher voltages, there is another style of 'buck' available to you:
A009-D-V-1400 BuckBlock
These run at 1000ma, 1400ma and 2100ma levels. Their voltage is...
I have been struggling to find a design to highlight the new blade holder.
