I miss claws... mmmm... claws....
Pretty Simple Hasbro Sound, Royal Blue Lux III, 4.8v NiMH Batter pack some sink tube overlay and a couple of hours on the buffer.
...
We should have a new sticky gallery thread, "Lightsaber Nightmares"... might make us feel better about our own screw ups to see some really horrendus no,no's.
The worst thing thats happend to me so far was when i made a saber for a friend, Just a simple MHS hilt, within two days he lost the lense, stripped out the threads on the blade holder, then marred...
my bad it was a customer return that poor erv had to deal with and novastar posted this hilarious vide on youtube about the mess of spahgetti that he had to deal with.
Be warned contains explicit...
The only thing Ive seen worse than that had to be Novastar's wtf? saber.
mr. microphone LOL!!! I just got a mental image of puling up to a gansta's car and drowning out the beats to crystal focus... too bad that image end in gunfire :(
Something like an itrip for your car stereo? Not sure what the range is on those, good idea tho Probably less lag than bluetooth.
Bluetooth is fairly inexpensive these days, I hacked some cheap headsets last year and used them to mod some art asylum star trek communicators, for a cost of about $20 bought at my local Bestbuy,...
You could use a miter box and hacksaw their cheap to buy and easy to get a straight cut on tubes, if your not sure what I mean type it into google image search.
Try pink styrofoam sheets you can get em long cut them with an exacto blade, paint with latex craft paint, and it will make it light and portable thats how cosplayers do it.
They are all real, all have been used the top 3 + the buster are unsharpened for combat and the other two have sharp edges, no so good for combat.
I built one A couple years ago not an exact replica but a test it's 4 1/2 ft 3" wide blade and 1/4" thick about 25 lbs, manageable but you're definitely not fencing with it

I use mylar on my blade tip if you've ever eaten a pop tart thats what they com wrapped in its a chromy plastic thats semi transparent.
Yes indeed, mount 3 on a pcb to output to 3 rebels, might be something there....
They are not a regular capacitor an ultracapacitor is a totally different beast you should check out the original post i placed there is a whole site explaining that the intent of these is to replace...
one of the perks I have read about is these things can power electric cars at the same capacity as Lion but at 1/3 the weight
Dont know yet but it fits in a handheld cordless screwdriver so there shouldn't be any problems building a saber out of it.
Yeah I'm tempted to pick up one of the coleman cordless screwdrivers, gut it, and use the existing circuit to build a prototype, (kinda like my first led saber) they have some kind of funky charge...
Yeah but you could wire them up like a resistor and heat shrink the works, you might have to mount them on the inside of the hilt for heat sinking purposes like a voltage regulator.

Saw these one day on digikey they look like a good low cost alternative to buck puck and resistors. and they...
I have been keeping an eye on some new emerging technology namely ultracapacitors they have a lot of benefits:
1- Recharge time of 45 to 90 seconds
2- 500,000 charge cycles
3- no chemical...
Welcome to the foums! I'm kinda back from the dead myself, looking forward to getting to know you and all the other new members. :)
Im Back! Its been too long hoping to catch up with some of the old timers and meet some of the new guys! (it looks like a lot of them now)
