If it helps, I have heard that royal blue and deep red LEDs make for a better purple than regular red and blue LEDs. You can order custom Tri-Cree LEDs from this very store with both royal blue and...

The etching looks good.
You're welcome and thanks. I'm glad I was able to help.
That looks really good.
Looks deep enough in the pic for me.
For the type of resist being used and the shape of it before etching, I'd say it came out pretty good.
Sounds good.
Looks good.
However what I meant by my previous statement is that the "before" pic needs to be "before the part is etched, not before it's polished. In other words, the before pic need to be...
What jbkuma stated. More time but with less salt and/or less voltage/current. The faster it etches, the easier it is for it the bubbles and water turbulence to separate the resist from the part.

Yeah the toner transfer method (when it works) produces the cleanest lines. I had more luck using glossy magazine paper (ripped right out of magazines and it does not matter what is already printed...
Definitely better.
That's a good question. I did find one article on the net that stated that increasing the amps will make it etch faster. It also states that increasing the voltage is what increases the amperage.

That's a very deep etch. With that deep of an etch, you risk etching occurring underneath the resist or having the resist itself (or the resist's adhesive), degrading/not holding up. This can be...
Oops. I just remembered that the above product is not what was mentioned in my tutorial. I was confusing it with another tutorial I wrote years ago but never posted anywhere. That unposted...
This is one brand of it (I don't know if it's the brand I tried though)... https://www.rings-things.com/Products/Etching-and-Engraving-Supplies/Press-n-Peel-Blue-Transfer-Film.html
I never had...
Very nice etching.
Could be the paper you are using, also could be the quality of the toner. I bought some cheap toner once and it did not adhere to the part very well. It also could be the method of paper removal. ...
I have never used ink from an inkjet printer as a resist. I didn't even know that was possible. All the tutorials I have read regarding printers used for etching involved toner from laser printers....
9V batteries do not put out a lot of current. I recommend a four D-cell battery pack instead (puts out 6V). I have used one of those many times for etching. Works just as good as my old school car...
Another option might be to grease or oil the threads and then screw the parts together... if the acid is unable to eat through them that is. If it can, this may still be a viable option for...
Very cool.
I feel that spiked pommels look a bit on the dark side but so what. They look cool. As for it helping as the bottom of a pike being used as a walking stick (I can't think of any other way it could...
Nice.
I've only used the smart chargers with adjustable voltages. When I've given them to others (along with a saber) whom I know will most likely only own one custom saber for the rest of their lives, I...
Awesome stand.
Congrats to the winners.
