I hadn't even made it to the blade....it was this way as soon as I put the collimator and holder on it :-(
EDIT: Just verified, this was a K2 also.
I had ordered some stuff for a friend of mine and when assembling it for her, the LED would cut off when the lens & holder just barely touch it. Would this be a bad bulb or some other issue? I have...
I'll have to see if i can track down something to measure it....i don't personally have a meter.
EDIT: How are you folks getting the polyP inside the hard diffuser? How flimsy is the stuff?
OOhhh...gotcha. Thx...i'll try it and take new pics...i may even get out the green led and take new pix
the PolyP? i think someone else said something about that....what's that? i'm a total n00b...is that something sold here?
I added two buckpucks into my hilt and took the resistor out. I'm not 100% sure if I hooked everything up right. The blade is only a little brighter, but barely noticeable.
...
Ahh...gotcha...makes sense. If i could get the original tip off, i could probably find a mirror piece to fit it. We'll see when the 2 buckpucks get here if that'll help...i'll be posting new pics ;)
If the resistor is wrong for the setup, why is the store selling it that way as part of a kit?
Isn't 4 AAA = 6v (4x1.5v....the side of the battery says 1.5v)??
Also, the blade was...
My advise is that once you beat it doing whatever "side" you do (light or dark), that you go back and play again, changing your alignment to whatever is opposite. The dialog and such changes...
This is what it has:
2.2ohm 5w resistor
4AAA battery holder
Luxeon III Electronics Kit Red (Red)
Luxeon III/V Lens Holder
Collimator Lens 5° viewing angle
Shouldered 1" thick walled blade...
The blade I have for it is 40". It's using the standard 2.2ohm resistor that came in the kit. Presuming 1 buckpuck will will increase the juice and therefore the brightness, what about two, would...
First off...to any store staff reading this....thank you sooooo much for stocking the small heat sinks again...I was very happy to see those again.
What do you folks usually use for lining up the...
Thanks all. Good info Novastar.
Anyone know of a safe & effective way to make a heatsink? I am trying to get my hilt "live" before Mar 29 and a heatsink is the last piece of my puzzle. The inner diameter is 1" and the hilt is...
Ditto that ^
I need one b/c the ID of my hilt is only 1" and no other heatsink will fit it. I won't purchase the rest of the electronics until I know i have a heatsink that I can use.
**bump**
Any alternative or heat sink you know of that's 1" diameter or less?
Revisit: Are there any alternative out there to heatsink the Lux Star LEDs that are .99" or smaller?
Found it (which is good...i was wanting to read it too)

Quick image from the thread:...
There's probably a lot of us waiting for them :-P
Ya, that's what I was planning on doing, just saw it was out of stock, which lead me to the other heatsink.
I dunno if i'll do set or buttonhead yet as I want to eventually make it a quick-change...
Thanks. I'm probably going to have to make one or wait until the other comes back into stock. I have no removable emitter and the "core" is definitely 1" and I have no MHS parts on it.
The...
I was looking at this product due to the "old" one being out of stock.

I was wondering what the outside dimensions of that...
Thanks for the info!
Yes, they offer one..but given finances, i'll probably need to build it in small steps.
I think i'm "straight" on what I need, many thanks to all of your replies....correct...
Thanks for the input all...
What would be the best option if i want to do a quick-change kit (using this for two different costume styles & need two different colors)?
Would a C-Clip (still...
