Hey guys. I'm trying to hide a retention screw in my blade holder (style 25), and an 8-32 is a little too big for where I'm trying to put it. Is a 4-40 screw too small to use as a retention screw?

Personal preference, I wouldn't use 4-40. Im no engineer so I don't even know where to begin to determine if it is indeed too small. I just wouldn't.
What kind of use is the saber intended for? Dueling, show? Will a 6-32 work?
Thanks for the reply! I don't duel aside from the occasional battle with my 4 year old. It will mostly be a show piece with a little light spinning.
I've used 6-32 before that have worked ok for light sword play. IDK, maybe others can chime in on the 4-40. It's just that the nose on those has such a small point of contact.
Yeah, and that is my biggest concern, with the screw being so narrow, I'm worried it would crack the blade.

I used a 4-40 for the blade of a tiny hilt that won't be dueled with and it works okay. it's only got like a 12" 3/4" blade in it though. Its a Yoda type hilt.
4-40 retention screws can be used in other places, I like that you can fit one on MHS parts just in the threadless gap is between the edge of a male-thread side and the threads starting. Great way to lock aluminum disc chassis in and have the retention hidden when the saber is put together.
