Box style 28 kit (Korbanth LS6 Gullwing Activation Box)

I see the store shows you how to wire this up to the saber's 3.7v power source to get the lights working from turning the saber on, but is there a way to use the momentary switch to turn the saber on, and have the lights come on with it? Seems like once you cut the traces as shown, you can only use the momentary switch to turn it on, but the lights won't work. I've seen plenty of youtube videos where people are doing this, but no tutorials. Thanks!

Now I am wondering, if it the lights are wired to the battery, and the tactile switch is wired to turn it on, would it turn on the lights anyway? Maybe I over thought this and the instructions in the store are the answer.

EDIT. I got it to turn on with the button on the side, but had to forgo the lights. Oh well.
