Pixel blade plug construction problems

Hey all,
Decided to build my own pixel blade plugs for a pixel hilt. Used a short leftover 2812 strip 7-pixels, blade side PCB w/330 ohm 0603 resister (resister value good at 330) and watching a few videos online it looked like an easy task. I saw that you don't have to change pixel values in the config files and it should work just fine as I saw the online builders do.
Problem is: the pixels fry out on ignition and the pixel lenses are cracked and burned out. What I am I missing here? 18650 15amp battery is what I use and the main blade that has a 0603 330 resistor on the PCB that works just fine. Did this three times and doubled checked my soldering connections.
