Surface transducers - application for sabers?

Hi all,

A while back I was looking at speaker options for my SF overhaul, and I started thinking about how to apply a surface transducer for giving sabers sound. Has anyone ever attempted this? Obviously there are issues that arise when your hand becomes a dampening unit, as well as the vibration from the whole body messing with the sound board's ability to detect motion, but it poses an interesting project. Thoughts?

I've tried using exciters before and didn't think it was an experiment worth pursuing or sharing. I still have it, so maybe I'll dust it off again some time when I have a moment, but you really need a large flat surface. These things also generally like being mounted off center.
