Question about tactile switches

Hello all! I'm considering building a new saber like I've never done before, using a Nano Biscotte V2., tactile switch, all that fancy stuff. But the question I have is about tactile switches and the MHS single tactile switch ring (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MH...ring-P896.aspx). I plan on using a MHS ribbed extension (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MH...sion-P245.aspx), and looking at it in the MHS builder, it looks like there is some space between the threads and the start of the ribbed part.

My first question is this, using the switch ring and tactile switch, is it possible to place the switch in that section between the threads and the ribbed section? and if so, what if you have a blade holder on top of it? would the switch ring fit around the heatsink part of the LED module?

No, you probably won't be able to fit a small momentary in such a small area, and it wouldn't fit around the heatsink anyway. Also, the switch rings are meant for 1.25" ID, the ribbed extensions are 1.15".

IF you still want to do a tactile in the general area, I would use the silver switch #22's a little farther down in one of the ribs. Those are press fit, and wouldn't need a ring.

The switch ring fits inside 1.25" ID parts (standard MHS), but the ribbed extension is only 1.15" ID.

Even if you swapped for a standard MHS part with a 1.25" ID, there's not going to be enough room that close to the heat sink. You'd need to swap for a short style heat sink like the V4.

So I have another question, or rather I'm asking for opinions. Here is the design I want to do

And what I am unsure about is placement for a recharge port and the switch. I had originally thought of using a AV switch, but I think a tactile switch would be cooler, would blend in better even if in one of the ribs. I also have a few ideas for switch placement, but I'm not sure about a recharge port as I've never done one before.

Any opinions on good placement place for either would be appreciated.

The momentary in the rib is a good idea, it's been done before. ;) You could do the recharge port in the pommel if you modify the speaker holder accordingly.

Thanks, I was kinda thinking the pommel for the recharge port, and have an idea on how to mod the speaker holder. Once I get this bad boy built I'll have to show it off lol
