Maximum voltage input appears to be 4.5v. I wouldn't use anything other than a single li-ion cell to power this.

That's what I thought . Then I seem to be having an issue with it powering a red cree. The polarity seems to be marked wrong on the led. Is that common?Quote:

Incorrectly marked polarity is not common except for a specific RGB LED star sold elsewhere online.
It's always possible one got made up incorrectly.
