First build. Shroud material questions

Here's my basic sketch for my saber and shroud. Attachment 15628

the base saber is goig to be mhs parts
Blade holder 9
8or9" double female
Pommel 4
Activation box 9

The only issue I see having is being able to build my shroud the way I want without using a heavy guage material. I'm thinking of using pvc so i can dremel, sand, and carve what i want out of the thick material. Has anyone ever built a shroud/sleeve like this one before?

Edit: the other idea I had was 3d printing. If there's anyone in the community that can help me with that endeavor of course I wouldn't assume this service would be free. But maybe we could discuss what I need over private message
