Using a bass speaker with a bladebuilders soundboard?

Hey everyone, I'm making my first lightsaber so I figured I would start off with the bladebuilders soundboard for practice since I'm very new to electronics. I would like to upgrade the speaker using the 28mm bass speaker on TCSS website. I know the bladebuilders have a 16 ohm speaker and the bass speaker is 8 ohms, so I would need an 8 ohm resistor. However my question is whether the watts are important. The bass speaker is 2W and the hasbro is .25W. Do I need an 8 ohm 1.75W resistor? I can't find any like that. Any help or suggestions is appreciated, thanks!

All you need is the 8 ohm resistor. The speaker will work great, it was what I used on my first build.
