I realize that the MHSv1 boxes are curved to fit the OD of MHSv1 pieces. Is it possible to use them on MHSv2 with a small gap on the edges or is the differences between OD's too big?

Take a section of MHSv2, wrap it with sandpaper (rough side facing out), and use it to carefully sand the MHSv1 box until the curve matches. It may take a while, but it can be done.
Since the radius of MHSv2 is smaller than v1, the sandpaper would only contact the box in the middle. For this technique to work, I think you'd need to file the box flat first, then hollow out the MHSv2 curve. The final piece would be substantially thinner than it was before, so it would only work with boxes that were pretty thick in the first place. It would be easier to make your own part from bar stock, in my opinion.
Actually, the sandpaper will remove the excess material from the point of contact with the switch box, the center of the radius, and remove material until the sides of the curve fits flush. It works, it's been done.
