I really think you first design is good, I am sending as a pm because, well, because some people here get way to touchy and opinionated about there saber secrets. so please, if it starts a flame war, keep my name out of it. That being said... the blade holder would be easy if you can do some machining yourself, or you can just cut the threads off the pommel section and epoxy it to the blade holder. It actually works really well, I have a saber in the gallery that has 2 pommels epoxied together and have dropped it numerous time and it has not even loosened in almost a year. you could even fill the void of the pommel and blade holder with epoxy putty for added strength if you plan on serious dueling. As for your center section, that is way easier than you would think. you just need the longer choke section, cut off the bottom section (male threads) and slide it into the angled blade holder you have pictured. since the choke section is about an inch in diameter, it SHOULD fit. I have not tried it myself, but the theory is sound. The only real disadvantage you will have is you won't have alot of room in the whole center section. I say go for and it and do it and put some egg on some of the other guys faces good, and remeber, I never sent you this.
