It finally came together a few days ago. Here's what I thought was the finished product.
At first, I thought I had a mixup with wiring, because the white FOC LED was burning instead of the main LED. I serendipitously changed color profiles, which I didn't really understand fully that I could do. Then the main LEDs (green) lit up. It was like a miracle. Very cool, I thought.
Everything worked well except that in some sound fonts, the saber would shut off. My first thought was to recharge the battery, which I did, but to no avail. Then I decided that I had a glitch in the wiring somewhere.
In investigating the problem, I ended up deconstructing the entire saber. I also decided up add more LEDS. My vision was for the saber, when ignited, to feel like a living thing--alive with energy. To do this, I also added a rumble motor and several LEDs.
