Hi mate, I use (usually) two 14500 li ions together (side by side) and that gives me a 7.2v pack. Most people seem to use the 14500 twin packs, or at least, from what I have seen. I have also used them end to end, and first tried two 18650s, when I first got into sabers, but realised two side by side would not fit. Hello mate, my name is Brett, Good to meet another Aussie, here is my experience with Li Ion batteries. I have had 14500 ones from E bay,China, fitted with the little 7.4 PCB Tims sells and they worked fine and fit in the MHS stuff. I think the batteries were like $2 each, and have lasted for two years so far. Otherwise their was a guy who started up a shop called Aus Custom Sabers, now, I think his store is shut, but he is still on the FXforums, and the IRA forums also. He would easily make up a pack if you contacted him. Or, if you are using a sound card modified for just one battery, you could buy a single 18650 off E bay, . Again, I find the Trustfire etc ones from China to be around $2 to three dollars each, and whilst not a Panasonic quality, certainly serve well for the price.
