So i was contemplating puting together a short fan film when I get another saber built. The question i have... while it is easy enough to pull the sound files out of one of the pc games jedi academy or one of those, does anyone know of any good sound editing software that is reasonably easy to use, but robust enough to be effective and not too costly(preferrably free, but hey i'll do what i must when i get to that point)?

Pulling the sounds from the game shouldn't be too hard.

I have used Sony Sounforge which is really a sound processing program... so between you probably wanting more of a video editor that syncs music and the price I'd say it's not for you.

Sonic Foundry made Soundforge. Is the Sony one spelled "Sounforge," or did they buy the rights to it or something?

cheers to 987... that got what i needed and i played with the program a bit just now. Looks like there is plenty there to be getting on with. As for the video/sound editing i have something for that but it will not let you mix and meld audio clips. Therefore the need came for a different program to edit sounds, and mix them together. Thanks for the responses though, i appreciate it
cheers

They bought it I believe... It is still called Sonic Foundry too. Sort of like Macromedia is technically an adobe company now.

I like using Soundforge, Vegas, and Acid all together for the little bits I have done.

I tried Adobe Premiere and Audition. Boy did those suck... Only Adobe products I don't like.
