Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this... will This Stuff (http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=101) work on PVC? It is made to coat Metal, so i figure after a light sanding to prep the surface it might be ok?

*edit* This stuff (http://www.homedepot.com/Paint-Spray-Paint/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ5zyoxZapz5/R-100391075/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053) is specifically designed for PVC, and is cheap as well as easy to get a hold of :D

I tried the black version of that paint on pvc over plastic primer and was not happy with the results. It could've been that the outside temp. was not warm enough, though.
If you have good painting conditions, I'd give it a shot.

this will be for a two year old so it doesn't have to be professional quality... Do you have a pic i could see what you mean?

I trashed the part I painted, sorry.

Ahh, that "not happy" eh?

Could it have been the primer? the specs on that page say no primer needed....

Coulda been the primer or humidity. I've had problems with other types paint in my area (NY) due to humidity.
I say try it out on a scrap piece of pvc and see what happens.

Good Luck!

After being reminded that Jay-Gon uses something specific in his Turorial (duh can't believe i forgot that...) I did some researching and came up with this little deal here (http://www.homedepot.com/Paint-Spray-Paint/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ5zyoxZapz5/R-100391075/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053). Local, cheap, and is precisely what i needed!

Thanks for the help Ingchao! Hopefully if anyone else has the same questions this will answer it for them!

I use that and Krylon makes a nice plastic paint, too. (available @ your locally Wally-mart).
I also put like 3-4 coats of clear on it to give it some extra shine.

I'm always looking for something that'll work, too. That's why I experimented with the rustoleum appliance paint. I even tried the Krylon x-treme metals (http://www.krylon.com/products/xmetals/), too. It looks amazing. I used that on metal but it scratched WAY to easily.

I use the Krylon paint for plastics too and it works great. I used it on my Mando Armor and have used it on PVC sabers too.

I've used that hammered Krylon stuff too. It's pretty durable. No primer needed. Just give the plastic a light sanding first to break the finish and give the paint something to grip to.

Yup, to echo, we use the Krylon Fusion hammered paint for our PVCs as well. Needs to be 65 deg or warmer to get the best finish. Make sure the piece is SUPER clean, I use acrylic paint thinner to clean my parts and that works great.
