I just recieved a chunk of stainless steel tubing for use in my very last saber I will ever build (thank goodness). Anyways, I bought 1.5" diameter, 0.035" wall thickness tubing. According to conversion charts, 20 gauge tubing has a wll thickness of 0.035", but this stainless steel tubing appears to have a far thicker wall than a 20 gauge brass sinktube. I've measured the wall, and indeed, it is 0.035".

Can someone explain why 0.035" wall thickness (20 gauge according to conversion charts) looks so much thicker than a 20 gauge sinktube's wall?

I'm tired of building them. It used to be fun, but now it feels like a chore. Plus, I don't make enough off of them to justify my time spent. On average, I spend nearly 100 hours in construction time, and I have other things I could do with that time that would make me a LOT more money.

I'm bumping this. Someone has to know. I really don't want to have to buy more parts for this thing, but may have to and have Tim turn them down for me...

Had to give you a bump on this as well, I am curious on this as well. We all know that PVC is on it's own as far as how it's sized and I think that there is something about pipe vs. tube but it has been a while on that for me. Anyway, I want to know too(edit) guys.
