I currently have a MR ESB Vader saber that uses the standard bubble strip slide switch.

What I want to do and has always sounded more logical to me is to replace this with a momentary slide switch so that youi run your thumb up the strip and it returns to the original position and you do the same thing to shut it off.

This would eliminate accidental shutdowns and (I think) make for easier power up/down.

Can anyone tell me what this would be called and or what I would be looking for size wise? Id like to purchase one of these and drop it in if at all possible.

Thanks

MR/Hasbro FX board use latching switches, not momentary. If you tried to used a momentary in that way, you'd have to keep the switch closed manually to keep the saber on.

is there any kind of switch that would be the same form factor that would slide up and spring back to neutral but remain on and in turn power off the same way?

Nope, that would be momentary only. Though there is way to wire a momentary to a MR board;)

True.

I forget about that, because I haven't tried it yet. :p
