I was woundering if this conversion kit http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MR-or-Hasbro-FX-Anakin-conversion-kit-P248.aspx will fit into a 1.5 sink tube.

Not directly, no. I made one once but I had to shim inbetween the tube and the holder with some thin plastic pieces. If you don't, it'll rattle around.

What about some o-rings

the o-rings would just roll off when you slide the sinktube on. Shims glued to the holder work better

If you can find a 17 gauge 1.5" OD brass sinktube at your local hardware store, you'd be really close to the size of the TCSS Anakin conversion kit. At 17 gauge, the ID of the tube would be 1.384"

ok then how close is it to fitting in this? http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Replica-brass-Graflex-top-P394.aspx or am I looking at the same size problem?

The conversion kit "should" fit in that fine, but I don't know if the holes would line up correctly. Somehow I doubt they would.

What materials have people used to make the tabs? And did you make the hoop around the blade holder or just make the tabs on the outside.

When I made mine, I shimmed it using plastic "zip ties" and just filed them down until they fit properly. 3 to 5 along the length would work and be stable. I have since 'cannibalized' mine for a real MR/Hasbro Ani saber so I don't have any pictures of it out of the sink tube, but I do believe somewhere I posted a pic (though not the best) of the work. It was probably over a year ago.
