has anyone been able to find a way to use a pressure sensitive switch to turn on the sabers yet? i've been looking a bit and found a tape ribbon pressure swicth but, the way it works if you let off the switch it stops. works like a momentary, which would work for corbins driver but not to turn on.off a el or led, since the switch would have to be either on or off. i know someone here was looking into that line of switches once and wondered if anything has came up/

You can use a momentary switch so that the saber is only on while you are holding the switch down..is this what you meant?

no. thats not quite what i meant. but so far what you guys said is all ive found too. what i was tryin to get at was, a pressure switch that would function as a on/off regular switch. and yeah i looked into a switch just like the one tetmatek showed. but again, when you let off it goes off. so everything so far i found acts as a momentary instead. i did find one possible switch, but its way too pricey. although it did seem to do what i was wanting. it had a pad with a wire that went to a control. dont know how big the control was, but it would turn stuff on or off. but the whole setup was 300 buckaroos. way too expensive to test it, and if it didnt work, well, money lost.

i thought i was onto something with the tape ribbon, but after reading more, its same as momentary as well, let off and it goes off. oh well, hopefully somebody will find something, cheaper than i did, cuz im not paying 300 for a chance.

Hi guys
That's a good source for switches. I don't know of any latching pressure switches, but you COULD use a latching relay that's triggered by a pressure switch. That would solve your problem.

after i just completed this last saber i realized, that since its switch was a momentary, you could use a tape ribbon switch. it would function the same as the momentary switch on the hasbros. you could place it underneath the bubbles or computer card on the vader/obi/luke or whatever similar type activator styles.

Corbin,

is a latching relay rated at 1 amp enough to handle everything?

Thanks,
