With the amount of information you provided this is the only answer I can give, till it burns out. You need to check out the FAQ and Thread Index sections so that you can find the information you need on wiring a 3 watt led

Resistors only cost a few cents. Why would you not use one?

Like Do-Clo said there isn't enough info for us to say. You could run an LED forever on no resistor if you don't have enough voltage OR on the other end hook up a 9V to it and watch it fry.[}:)]

<center>Read the FAQ (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=552) or x-wing won't be happy. :(
Before posting did you check the Thread Index (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=577)?.

The heatsink will help it last a while but that sucker will die before your eyes if you leave it on. 6V is well above the forward voltage and with no resistor to give of some of the extra it's GOOOOONNNNNAAAAA DIIIIIIIEEEEEE. (nod to Ron White right there[:D])

If you just want to see it light up use 3V. That won't really hurt it. Do yourself a favor and get a resistor though.[;)]

Plus do the math Resistor= $.64 vs Led= $10.00

Why help him? He should learn this kind of thing the hard way.

its for like a 3 minute fight i needed the information so i could know if 3 minutes would make it die

If you just wire in a resistor you will not have to worry about it burning out. But without it I doubt very much that it will last 3 minutes without frying.[xx(]
