Hey everyone at the forums! I just wanted to thank everyone for posting a myriad of information about lightsaber construction! It made constructing my first saber easy and FAST! About a month ago I didn't even know such things existed...I was browsing youtube one day and one of Novastar's videos came up...once I saw that video I was determined to create my own LED lightsaber...about 3 weeks later...I get my wish!!! As a kid, I always dreamed of possessing a real lightsaber, and when I saw Novastar's video, this amazing website, and all the information in the forums, I knew that creating a lightsaber was certainly doable. And it was! Basically, thanks everyone for compiling all of this information...especially the tutorials by Lord Maul and Strydur...there are many other helpful post that I have used as well...so if your posting...THANK YOU!

Here's the hilt...I want to work on making it look cooler, but I am pretty happy with it right now. I was amazed at how authentic the parts looked without tampering with them!

Another Hilt shot...

Right now it is just a standard LED/1000mah buck/switch and battery pack...in the near future I will upgrade to sound and effects...but I am totally happy with what I have with now! If you have any ideas on giving the hilt a more lightsaber-ish look...let me know...I figure I could do some reading on PVC hilt-work...I want to have more of black grip look...but that is all in the future!

I saw some of your lightsaber's cardcollector...very epic...right now money is a problem with college and everything...I don't have the tools or the knowledge to cut a sinktube overlay...guess I have more reading to do!

Thanks for the compliments, if there's one thing you'll learn in this hobby it is patience and budgeting!;)

Wow that looks amazing. I still have to construct my own light saber. But really good job. I hope mine comes out good. ;)

This is the kind of necropost that's not necessary.

It's been 8 months since the last post, it doesn't really further the conversation, and the Original Poster hasn't even logged on since his last post, so he's unlikely to see your compliment.

Please don't go dredging up more old posts like this just to say, "Hey, nice saber."

Thanks

Nice first saber...and what's more:

1. You did your homework
2. You didn't ask questions without searching first

Thanks for that and welcome! You will do well in this hobby.

*Sigh*

Apparently you didn't see my post, before you perpetuated this unnecessarily resurrected thread, Caine. :-|
