For the screws I wish to use a black oxide screw and can't find any the 1/8". My question is will a 3/16" screw work or will it go to far and interfere with the threads because in the description it says to use the 1/8".

It says to use 1/8" so that it doesn't interfere with the threads. 3/16>1/8......so, no.

I was just wondering how much play there was or if the valley of the thread was there, but thank you.

Yeah, not much play. You don't want to mess up your threads at all. These screws are just for decoration.

Can the 1/8" screws be painted with a metal spray paint? I just want the heads painted.

Sure, I don't see why not.

I was just wondering cause i tried on a peice the paint just flecked off pretty quick, but i guess that could give a nice weathered look maybe.

Sand them lightly first. Use an industrial or commercial grade paint.

You could just cut the screws down to 1/8" if you are really set on using those screws. Kind of a pain though, because that's a lot of screws.

Yeah, I don't really get that sig though.

I'm Italian and my family almost always has red sauce on our pasta. Maybe it's a regional thing. :p

We Sicilians like our marinara sauce! ;)

I saw it before I was a member of the forums and I laugh when I see that part in the movie.

Its just an affirmation Lori;)

Though I do occasionally like a white sauce (not neccessarily Alfredo), I usually only like it on stuffed pasta, like Tortellini or Cannelloni.

For some reason, it looks like he's outraged at the idea. I guess it's just me that thinks he does. :p

I don't think it's necessary to paint the screws. I believe the black ones are black oxide COATED, so you could sand the heads and remove the coating to expose the steel underneath in all it's silver glory.

I dont think he is out-raged at the idea of red sauce on pasta, I think he is yelling at whomever is disputing red sauce on pasta.

Yes, I get that, now.

The ones Tim sells are just plain silver machine screws. He doesn't sell black oxide screws in 1/8" size. That's why i want to paint them. I wish them to be black oxide but i cant find any that are that small. Maybe i just overlooked them but i couldn't find them any where even on MSC direct.
