I had this fx board that had been fried. I went from the + VDD direct to the led bypassing the fried portion of the board. I turned it on for a few seconds and after doing this i got to thinking, "should i put a resistor here?"
So that is my question to you all.

take a multimeter reading. Im thinking its putting out more Volts than youd want. but at least with a reading you can see for sure and be able to calculate the proper resistor value

I had one recently that did that...fixed the same way, using no resistor...the trace that burned didn't have a resistor on it, why would your jumper wire need one? The wire itself will have more resistance than the burned trace did.
