The name says it all, its a stainless steel Boushh Bomb.
Its just a little 'inbetween sabers' project to add to my dark Jedi costume.

Inspired by a thermal detonator tutorial at the Dented Helmet, this one is allso made of 2 stainless steel icecream-coups.
The edges where trimmed down at first, with a cutting wheel. The teeth wore off. Then with a dremel grindin bit (the grainy ones), which fell apart, after being worn out. Finally, i discovered this old stone grinding wheel (like the sword sharpening ones) which managed to finish the job.

After that was done, i used this pattern for the grooves:

The grooves i tried to make with another grainy dremel bit, with little succes.
So i got a metal file which did its job pretty well.
First the grooves, then the indentations, as well as some battle scarring by filing in some scratches and filing some pathes along with the direction of the scratches and then pretty much beating it with the file.

Then, for the 'paint job' i used water, coffee and iron-oxide powder a.k.a. RUST! What could give a better rusty look than rust? (this is normally used as a powder for mixing paint).

So a day, two dremel bits and some aching muscles later, here it is!

Ill be adding some blinkies next, and i might be able to replace the temporary white cardboard with stainless steel sheeting, instead of the Pringles can i'd have to use otherwise. If possible, ill add the sliding thumb-switch on top, if i can get it to slide, that is.

Measurements are:
'Thermite Shell' 6cm OD
'Baradium Core' 5.5cm OD (a sheet of 2cmx17cm)\

Comments and tips to make the thumbswitch slide would be appreciated.

You need to resize your pictures. 800 by 600 pixels is the maximum for this forum.

Added some heavy-burn style weathering:

Hey looks really cool! I'd prefer it in chrome myself but awesome job nonetheless :D

Thanks :D

I like the chrome one as well, but since my grooves wherent very clean,
i chose this method to cover it up a bit :)
Turned out pretty well after all.
Makes them look like they have a story to tell.
Which i will, as soon as i come up with one...

What are you useing for the holo projector? Both look great, love the burn technique will have to try it at some point.

Those things don't say "holoprojector" to me. The round shape just doesn't look right IMO. I think they should have a flat bottom.

@ Goltar Bias: I used some stainless steel spotlights i found in a box on the street.
@ J-Lo: It was either a holoprojector or another grenade...
I will focus on it being a holoprojector, since i can allways say its a grenade,
meaning ill have to make it see-through figure compatible.
