Does anyone else think it's about time a new Jedi game came out!

I loved KOTOR and KOTOR 2. I've been playing Jedi Acadamy on my XBOX all over again, just 'cause there's nothing else!

Has anyone heard of anything on the horizon?

i was just reading about wii in newsweek the other day...has some new handheld controller that's totally wireless and is motion sensitive...they're hoping it'll bridge the video game generation gap, but i'm betting it'll be a flop

Speaking of flops..

Nintendo's GameGlove immediately springs to mind. It was great for about, oh, 17 minutes on X-Mas morning (set-up time), and after that...well, let's just say it suffered the video game peripheral equivalent of neutering, as it mysteriously "lost" its cord.

I was an impatient child..[V]

Yeah, I wish they would make an offline game (not an MMORPG) that's really immersive and deep, deep, deep like morrowind or something. That'd be cool. Of course, I did like the KOTOR games a lot. They just kept me wanting more. [^]

Hmm...
The Nintendo Wii has a controller that resembles a small remote control, but with a D-pad, buttons, and a trigger. It can sense any kind of movement, so you can use it to simulate a realistic sword or gun battle.

Plus you can use Nintendo's online service to download old NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, TurboGrafx and N64 games directly to the console, and use a regular controller to play them.

Check it out here:
http://wii.nintendo.com/

The really nice thing is that since it uses "real" controls, non-gamers can play it. Heck, I know a ballerina dancer who wants one.

Oh, and it won't flop. The lines to Nintendo's booth at this year's E3 broke every E3 record. And with The system expected to cost at least $100 less that the X360 (and $200 less than the PS3), it'll be really nice.

Almost the entire IGN.com staff at E3 said that Nintendo won the show by showing that their console really is awesome. You can check out the video here:

god i cant wait for the wii... it looks so awesome. Caught some footage of "red steel" the game looks killer... its a FPS with a gun and a sword. sweeeeet.

A Jedi feels the Force flowing through him..

Yeah, in Red Steel, you can disarm opponents, then simply gesture to tell them what to do. For instance, you can give him the "get down" gesture with the remote (AKA the wii-mote), and he'll actually get down on the floor, put his hands behind his head, etc.

Oh, and Lucasarts has mentioned that they'd love to do a Wii game, and have lightsabers in mind... [:D][:D][:D][:D]

I wonder if they could do another Jedi Knight style game with co-op play like Halo!

I wanna see a game that actually lets you explore the Jedi Temple. You always hear about all sorts of neat stuff in it, but we never get to see it.

I have an idea. Lucasarts should start making "character games". Basically, it's be like Star Wars: Obi-Wan done right, and covering one of the trilogies. They could, using the Nintendo Wii controller, make all parts of the Star Wars universe easily and intuitively playable (shooting, starfighter flying, and lightsaber combat).

They should do it either on Obi-Wan or Luke. Obi-Wan would actually start before the prequel trilogy, with at least one mission based off of the Jedi Apprentice book series. Those books have so much material; if the game developers just took advantage of it, they could create a truly massive and vivid world for the player to explore. After the obligatory "training" levels, you'd be put into the story of The Phantom Menace, where you'd follow Obi-Wan's various adventures. Fortunately, since we now have the entire prequel trilogy, we don't have to make up dumb stuff for Obi-Wan to do like in Star Wars: Obi-Wan. If you compile together all the various stuff that Obi-Wan actually does in the entire trilogy, you've practically got an entire game right there. Just add in some "bridging" levels to help keep the story somewhat fluid between the episodes (yes, this means we get some Clone Wars action [:)]), and you've got a great game.

Luke would work similarly, but instead of using the lightsaber the whole time, you'd use a blaster 'til the Dagobah training level, at which point you'd replace the blaster with the lightsaber. Hey--maybe you could even choose the color of Luke's homemade saber. He always looked better with blue...
