I've been trying to find something to house my sound card inside my saber and have come up blank, what are some of your ideas or examples of housing sound cards inside sabers?

You can even use this very un-futuristic low-tech but EASILY shapeable even by hand material called 'scraps of wood'...I hear it also has the virtue of being nonconductive. ;-)

as mentioned..

film canisters are 'perfect'..

thin wall PVC is is also decent..

I like to use gold club cover 'tubes'.. (black)

I use parts of the plastic blades from toy lightsabers. There is only about 8" per blade that is the correct size.

If not they deserve to have their expensive soundboards short out on the gold tube...then again if they are making mounts out of gold they probably don't care about the cost of the board eh? lolol

I make all of my saber chassis from diamond.

Someday, with nanotechnology, diamond will be as common as glass.

What will be a girl's best friend then I wonder?

well kinda wacky thing idea i did for mounting my electronics... 2AA battery holder, this sitting in a floresent light bulb protector (find em' at home depo, ace, etc...) they work great for coverning your electronics within the hilt... you could use anything non-conductive for your chassise... mine happend to be a 2aa battery holder (empty) and acctually holder its self is velcrowed to the plastic covering.... but its really sturdy!:o

I'll build a standard chamber using plastic washers and 6/32 screws. On both washer sides facing inward of the chamber I'll mount two more half circles and then mount the driver board on the flat edges of those half circles. Need more open lines to pass wires through? Just drill the necessary holes through the plastic washers.

you can also use brass or aluminum rod

to cover the 6/32 (or whatever) screws/threaded rod.. also well as to run wires through

for example these picture uses brass rods, and there are no wires showing at all.
or threaded rod/screws

men will eventually say "screw it, it was your friend till it became worth nothing. friendship cant die that way. now your getting diamond and your going to like it!"

I prefer crystal chambers myself...hehe....the bling you can swing!

Diamonds and gold are much more useful then decoration. I personally think they're wasted on jewelery. Then again I'm not your average girl.

Nice chassis!

Double sided mounting tape seems to be popular and work pretty good for mounting sound cards. I had to move my sound card and it stuck well but is removable if you're carefull. Film cases fit really tightly too.

I use airborne canisters. They fit excellently into 1.25 sink tubes

If you're using the US board shown in your pic, the setup that Tim sells in the 'sound' section works great... the speaker/battery holder combo where the US board fits perfectly on the battery holder :)

There is another option for mounting a soundboard inside an MHS saber:, or any other type with a 1 1/4" inside diameter:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1wKyJkZ1Kk

It's a 2-AA battery holder from Radio Shack with the contacts and springs removed. For the US 1.0 that is in it, I also removed one end of the holder.

Yep thats exactly what I use. We use it alot at home, so I started saving them for the sound boards.

Cutting a section of the toy hasbro blades works well too. And the translucent color of it looks cool.

This is the set up i have been using.
It's 1" schedule 40 pvc. You can get 10' for $2-3 at home depot/lowe's.
You'll have to machine or sand it down a bit to fit snugly inside the MHS.
It is both regular and reverse sound friendly.

The plastic M&M Mini candy tubes (the ones in the checkout aisles of grocery stores) are perfect to fit US soundboards inside. You just need to cut off the wide dispenser end. They also fit the 2AA holders in the store just as nicely.

I have an older Parks Obi TPM saber and the plastic tube slides very snugly into the grip area, almost like it was made specifically for it. Not sure how they would would work with the new Parks Obi TPMs hilts that Korbanth is seling on FX-Sabers.
