I heard that people are designing a way to make a saber that dosn't use a tube that looks real, using some sort of kind of magnets power it that'll cost like $800, and when it touches some1 it'll go through them but they wont feel a thing.

I haven't heard anything made out of magnets... too much power. Sounds more like holograms you are talking about. They use three lasers to project 3D images.

Very pie in the sky stuff.[:p]

Even if it would fit in the hilt--what fun would holgraphic lightsaber blades be? Sure, they'd look cool, but they'd pass right through each other. You couldn't duel with them.

maybe you've heard abaout "real" plasma sabers... well this is just a theory on how to make real working sabers. (that cut things) the theory is that you should create a plasma field in the air and make it take the form of a blade (not just plasma-porridge) with a magentic-field... this is a quite a nice theory and it's actual theoretically possible. BUT then you'll have to create a 20 centimers long fuison reactor... and that's a bit tricky[:D]

(right me if I'm wrong)

abaout this 3 laser stuff: how abaout put the holograms in a clear PC tube??

ion sabers has a laser saber, the blade is 1 inch in diameter and is pure light

I wouldn't buy a saber from them. Not after my friend's experience. If I win the lottery, I'll buy one of their sabers and write an honest review with pics.

But a magnetic saber is hardly possible. To get the power converted is astoundingly hard.

Plus, it would cost over 10K for one saber, no one would buy it.

Well, here is an interesting place I came across. But given how terrible their grammar and spelling is, I'm not sure if it is all bullsh!t or what. Anyway, I thought I'd post the link for others to have a gander. The first pics they show obviously need a smoke-filled room.

The thoght of a real saber blade has been thought up by scentists many times they figured you would need to harness the plasma that is found in the sun.

a real saber that cuts thru anything but itself is purly a wet dream.

well im just saying it was discussed not telling him to shut up just because it was already discussed. just encouraging him to look for the topics that talk about this, because what do real sabers have to do with magnetic sabers?

Me personally i would rather stick to the normal LED and EL sabers we make i dont care about having a real one, if it was high on the cool factor then i would consider getting one, but it seems that we dont have the technology to really make one.

Yeah..Ive looked at the technology that was enspired by scify shows and the onlything we got were the sliding doors from startrek.

They have Hypo-Sprays now.

And an MRI is the closest thing we have to a Tricorder right now.

are you talking about the ones that open to the shape of your body? and they open from the middle? because if so im planning on getting a pack of those. pretty neat doors.
