So in trying to teach a woman in my local club some spins and grip changes it became aparant that the size of the hilt she uses was going to be a big factor. She was having issues with using her fingers to grip it from the sides in addition to having a ring on one of the fingers. (Lefty and engaged) I thought I had a solution as in a few of my sabers my hand migrated to the chokes on the grips quite often. Here is what I came up with.

•1 of: Screw on LED blade holder style 9
•1 of: Double ended male threaded connector
•1 of: MHS choke style 1 long
•2 of: 4" Double female threaded connector
•1 of: MPS Pommel style 8
•1 of: MPS Insert style 7

I think it came out well. It has an FX Vader board in it. I may see about engraving, acid etching, painting, or polishing, but that will be after I give it to it's recipient.

Hilt looks like it will be fine for what you need, but what on earth are you doing with your electronics? All of your reds are VERY dim...and that is hard to do. Why not take some pix of your setup so we can help you fix that?

LOL thopse batteries were kinda dead and that was a TCSS show blade. They were running another saber (with these electronics) for a bit.

I am going to be moving to the corbin film blades or the Do-Clo ones.

I had almost all Ultra blades and the fit was a pain, so I just tried the TCSS ones as they were intended to fit the MHS, but I think I will prefer the other type offered here till I get around to working towards making my own.

I am generally just running 3 or 4 AAAs (depending on battery pack, 4 in that one) and I am not using a resistor, as I have not blown an LED thus far and have not bothered with it yet.

xanthus, how long is that hilt? looks like it's gotta be close to 14 inches. looks good.

Funny this thread should come up.

Are you using sound or just having this as a stunt saber?

I I'm doing this (see below) for my GF. With the choke in the middle it spins really nice.

It's taken a bit of planning and some modification to arrange the sound for mine, how long is this and where are the electronics?

Battery pack in pommel end and the Vader FX card is just above the choke. I had severe thread issues with the saber that the Vader was in so after using the dark side of the force (smashing it over an anvil) I was able to get the blade holder out and thus free the rest of my (yes undamaged) electronics from the old hilt.

It is a longish hilt, but it does handle nicely. The sound from it is quite loud too.

after studying your design, i kinda like the choke in the middle of the hilt... i may design a saber similar to these... thanks for the inspiration

I know what you mean. I think mine may be smaller and I had nowhere to put the switch. I almost gave up on the design then I figured on having the switch mouunted in the pommel which salvaged it.

How come the vader was so hard to take apart or was the vader in another saber?

From a MHS saber that I had cross threaded. Totally my mistake. I had thought it was the heat sink not seating and pushed it a little, I was wrong.
