No electronics as I haven't quite been able to afford em yet, but I'm also kinda holding off till I get my main project done to order LEDs and such...

I also need a blade retention screw, for which I have the hole drilled already as you can see.

This is a PVC "Jay-Gon" style, but with a Graflex-esque S-curve emitter. What do y'all think?

Here's the updated hilt. I think it looks much cleaner now. The blade parts shipped today, so I should have em by Tues-Wed no problem!

It sure has potential. I would make something more with the piece near the emitter (a cutout, for instance), but I really like the curve you gave it. Go ahead and light it up too! :)

I'd say go ahead and spend a few buck and give this baby a Blue Blade!!

Well, I did it. I finally ordered a blade kit.

Here's what I've got coming:

Lux K2 white (kit)
40" thick walled blade
blade film
colour discs

I'm going to experiment with these.. I figure this is an initiate saber at best, so some experimentation is fine. Perfect is not necessary for this one. :)

Hell, I'm just glad the missus approved!

Intiresting, the s-curve looks nice.

I like the way you did your emitter, but your foam grips are a little sloppy.

Woohoo! I got my blade parts in! I'll be taking a photo or 2 when I get home and get it all put together.

Alright! I got it all put together, revised the hilt yet again (battery pack was too big for my PVC). Here's the beauty!

It's a white Lux K2 with the 2 blue colour filters in it. I'm currently waiting on my Lee Filters swatch book for some better colour. The blade is a 36" dueling blade with the TCSS diffuser and a dual Cellophane wrap. I think it turned out quite nicely!

The hilt itself is comprised of a 12" x 1-1/4" sink tube underneath 2 pieces of a 1-1/2" sink tube. I've got to figure something out for grips, and change the 2 rings around the switch section as I don't like them

What do you guys think?

Looks very nice IMHO. For the grips I suggest you to have a look at rubber flooring solutions, for instance. If you´re crafty enough, you can even cut some PVC pipe into stripes and glue or screw them to your hilt for that specific purpose (better paint them black, or any other color of your preference).

Thanks for the compliment! I'll have to look around some for the grips. What do you mean by rubber flooring solutions? I'm not sure I've heard that term before.

nice saber, looks kinda like mine, except i dont have a the 1-1/4 sink tube underneath the 1-1/2 one. i used garbage disposal gaskets for grips since they fit around the tube very nicely. their not the cheapest idea but you end up only needing like 8 or so to make a nice grip area.

I just got a can of spray-on truck bed liner and tested it. I think I'm gonna try this stuff, once I figure out exactly what I want to do as far as the style of grip.

Well, I must've done something wrong with the sanding of the spots for the bed-liner... It just peeled right off. I'm gonna keep trying, but for now I've got some other crap on there.

Otherwise, it's pretty much done. Not too bad for my first functional sinktube saber, but I can definitely improve.

Pics!

The blade is coloured with a "Just Blue" Lee filter. Man, those things are awesome!

I call this one "Primus", as it is my first functional saber. :)
