all the US 2.0 and 2.1 say the same thing, they never said "US 2.1" when booting up. Only the 2.5 says "US2.5" when it boots up.

A board like this would not have dynamic memory for the programming, or it would lose it every time power was completely removed from the board. And it wouldn't keep the programming while it was being shipped.
