I was messing around with this cheap sound board. Had lots of fun putting it back together with the new parts. Now I hope to go bigger with a P4 LED or something like that.

The blue and green CREE LEDs and a red/orange LUX I LED work great with those.

Do I need any resistors or bucpuck for the Cree or Lux LED?

This was answered on your thread at FX-Sabers.

The next time you use heat shrink, don't have it so close to the connection you're soldering, then it won't shrink prematurely when your wire heats up on the end. ;)

Are you keeping your soldering iron tip clean? It looks dirty, to me. I clean my tip on a damp sponge each time before I use it, and before I put it back in the stand.
