drilling the the blade tip mirror?

i have read in several threads that many people drill a hole in thier blade tips to allow light to enter the tip. I think i want to do this with my tip ( a thickwalled regular style). My question is this: what size hole should i drill? :confused:

okay, thanks. Is it better to drill the hole in the mirror or to completely replace the mirror with the semi reflective Mylar everyone talks about?
