I tried searching but I didnt see what I was looking for, but im sure this must have been discussed before, maybe im just missing the thread.

So far I found a polymer optic that wont work because its like 1.4in wide, other than that I havent had much luck.

Good luck with that...

The best solution for the tri-rebels is to mount them really close together a la Xwingband's custom Tri-Rebels. If you're looking for an RGB mounted like this, then check out LED-tech.de

The hard thing is that the standard optics don't really work quite as well, since the LEDs are still a little far apart. But they will work. I've had decent results using a 5 degree lens and a K2 lens holder. Experiment if you have the funds and see what you can come up with. If you use 3-4 feet of polypropylene wrapping in the saber blade, then it kind of helps to even out the colors when they blend and it's actually an ok look.

According to Matt Thorn, the LEDEngin RGBA will work with the standard optics.

Fot the LEDengin RGGB, and RGBA, the optimal optic is like 1.5" in diameter ! So you'd have to build a saber around it. The standard optics do work great though.

Could ya lathe the optic down, maybe on a "poor man's lathe"?

That's been asked in another thread.

The answer is no. It would ruin the focusing properties if you didn't know what you were doing, and did it exactly right.

Optics are a precision type of thing.

My interest has been peaked...

Are you guys talking about these? (http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/LedEngin/LZ4-20MA10/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvbrKVFTEWTlnQBGGkSW5%252b6GWRGDfU255 c%3d)

yeah but i think a 5 watt.

There is no 5 watt RGBA or RGGB from LEDengin. Only a 10 watt.

SUPPOSEDLY there is a Prolight 5 watt, but I haven't found it.
