Somebody might be able to help me out here-
I just got my saber parts in the mail today, and my saber hilt looks sweet when put together.
However, I do have one question- I got the Modular pommel and an insert disk, together with the clip. But how do I get that clip into position? It feels too stiff to bend easily.

Needle nose pliers, be carefull as somtimes the clip springs out on insertion.

c clip pliers are better than needle nose but in a pinch needle nose pliers will work.

You can get c clip pliers at any auto parts store (they are cheap).

or you can tear your hands up doing it my way.... good ol' hammer and punch

you can also just throw and O ring in there... that way one day of you want to change out the insert you can with ease

That is what I do. Never hurt my hands though.

You guys are so crude. :p

Be careful, the clip can pop out of the jaws of needle nose pliers, if you use those, and fly across the room. You don't want it to hit you in the face.

then i guess it was me trying to force it and also smashing my hand with the hammer multiple times.... the easiest way is just an O ring i would imagine....

I just took a screwdriver and pushed as hard as I could.

It worked great. :)

buy some c-clip pliers at your local hardware store, if you are going to do a number of sabers. I did, and I have had no trouble getting them in since.

I am never using a c clip again, I just need to get the one out of my new pommel so I can work on a chassies design,

I actually used a pair of hemostats -- they worked great! I wanted to use my small pair of right-angle needle-nose pliers but as with most of my tools someone in the house borrowed them and didn't return them to my tool chest. Yet another MIA tool

Hemostats? I wouldn't have thought those would be strong enough to use without them breaking.

I actually found needle nose pliers worked the best (for me) if you grip them tight enough then you should be ok. I have the mhs pommle s8 which is quite long so the needle nose reached down to the bottom and only required me to nudge the clip into place. I had the same problem at first :-p (thanks guys for the suggestions that made me remember I had some pliers laying around).

Or you could just use some hot glue....

I usually use Goop... It holds well enough, and you can remove it later if you want....
